Linpac Packaging, part of Linpac Group, has extended its Rfresh range with the launch of Rfresh XL joint tubs.

Rfresh XL contains up to 50% of post consumer recyclate and includes 100 mm, 120mm and 170 mm deep trays to suit all standard roasting joints, combining product presentation with extended product shelf life.

The containers meet EU guidelines for contact with food and can store meat for up to ten days in a chilled distribution system.

The packaging has been thoroughly tested for performance and retains PET’s traditional qualities of clarity and thermal stability, providing the same effective barrier needed to protect and preserve food from damage or contamination.

Adrian Lilley, Linpac UK’s business manager, said: “Rfresh XL has been developed in response to market demand for this type of deep drawn tray. We are delighted to offer our customers a sustainable packaging option for joints of meat.

“The launch of the product follows successful trials, where it received excellent feedback from a number of customers, including Cranswick Country Foods. We think this product will come at the right time for our customers, as demand for joints of meat tends to increase in the winter, due to the festive season and consumer’s love of warming winter roasts.”

Linpac launched the Rfresh range after a £3m investment at its West Yorkshire plant. The investment included new thermoforming equipment and an in line padding station.
