Kelsey queries design tradition

Innovation in packaging design will be in the spotlight during the Packaging Innovation seminars.

Steve Kelsey, partner at PI Group, will argue that brainstorming is “a creative way to spend some time but no use at all in creating new concepts”.

Kelsey, who is speaking at 11.30am today (15 May), will highlight a recent Accenture survey which claimed innovation success rates for FMCG products were below the traditionally accepted 10% and that failures cost firms hundreds of millions of pounds.

In a separate presentation at 3pm tomorrow (16 May), Kelsey will talk about how designers can meet the new challenges presented by consumers who are becoming “increasingly design literate”.
