Heinz picks microwaveable plastic pots for baked beans
Heinz is to put its baked beans in yoghurt pot-style packs that can be heated up in a microwave.
The Snap Pots are aimed at single people who want a quick and easy snack without adding to the washing-up or taking up space in the fridge.
This is the first time Heinz Baked Beanz have been sold in anything but the 57 Varieties can since they first went on sale in 1901.
The firm refused to reveal the name of the supplier of the pots or any projected sales figures.
The 200g pots, which cost £1.49 for a pack of four, take around one minute to heat up in a microwave.
The line will also include Spaghetti Hoops in 190g pots.
Single households in Britain have risen by 30% in the last 30 years, said Heinz, and the number of people eating alone has grown by 150% in the last decade.

I like the idea, but what grade of plastic is it. i live in the Colchester area and although they make a great song and dance about their plastic collection, they will only take 1 & 2. All other grades although recyclable are rejected.
