Choc art Artist
Peter Blake, best known for his work in the pop art movement in the 1960s and for the cover artwork for the Beatles’ Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band album, has created a piece of art using 700 Green & Black’s chocolate bars. Blake was enlisted to encourage consumers to create works of art from its redesigned packaging as a marketing initiative for the new look. The artwork went on display at the Art Barter exhibition in London’s Rag Factory at the end of November.

Charity chow
Packaging News made its first and last attendance to the Arkema annual curry lunch this year. Sadly, after 16 years, this was the final lunch as managing director Paul Jukes retires. However, the event went out in style as Jukes donned his sparkly gold jacket for one last time to host his final raffle, which raised approximately £900 for charity.
