The Nether Wallop Trading Company designs and produces a range of products such as bird feeders and rakes, and in the past year has sought to expand its business abroad.

Last year, the firm attended the National Hardware Show in Las Vegas where it was picked up by a number of mail order firms. Managing director Jane Vere-Hodge said the interested companies wanted more striking packaging.

“Our packaging used to be quite simple, but as we are exporting more I decided we wanted a more modern look,” she said.

Alan Cassedy of Cassedy Design came up with the new look graphics that were then converted by Quantum using conventional four-colour litho printing on to a kraft substrate.

“It’s a big change, but one that fits with the firm’s commitment to sustainable products and packaging and a change that was needed to move into bigger markets,” said Quantum sales manager Giles Foden.

Vere-Hodge said the new design was playing an important role in helping to develop and strengthen the brand. “The packs are a really good quality and will be used across all our products,” she said.

Nether Wallop supplies a range of trade gardeners and organisations such as the National Trust and Royal Horticultural Society.
