Packaging pre-press specialist EskoArtwork is using this week’s Labelexpo event to give visitors a taste of its Platform 10 software that will be launched next year.

Platform 10 is designed to bring together a number of existing Esko programmes under a consistent brand but also includes a number of new features for packaging and label designers and manufacturers.

The package will include five “software engines” for workflow automation, colour and image management, supply chain collaboration and dynamic content so brands can easily update information that is included on packaging labels.

The software will also bring together technology from both Esko and Artwork Systems that became one company in 2007.

EskoArtwork senior vice president for products Arjen Maarleveld said: “We are focusing on a smooth transition and upgrade path, making sure our customers’ processes will not be disrupted and their investments are protected while adding significant new functionality.”

Maarleveld added the firm would also be updating existing software to make full use of Platform 10′s capabilities. The first stage of the rolling-out of Platform 10 will take place in January.

Labelexpo starts today and runs until Saturday at the BrusselsExpo showground. For Packaging News‘s preview, click here.
