The carton manufacturer has angled the top of the Tetra Brik Edge so it doesn’t have to be lifted as high as a typical pack to be poured.
A 34mm screw cap has been used, which the company said was easier to open and large enough for consumers of all ages to grip comfortably.
According to the Swedish Rheumatism Association (SRA), which named Brik Edge package of the year, even consumers with arthritis or hand injuries can open the pack.
The Tetra Brik Edge is manufactured at speeds of 7,000 packs per hour on Tetra Pak’s C3/Flex XH packaging line.
Shelf-ready packaging has also been created for the new product, which uses a third less material than those used for similar packs capable of being stored in the chiller.
So far, the pack has been used for selected products in Norway, Sweden and by UHT-milk market leader Milch-Union Hocheifel in Germany.

Know what might top that off a treat?
A cap that not only offers more security, but is even easier to remove.
