Tin Horse designs Ariel stain removers

January 27, 2009 Comments Off

Design consultancy Tin Horse in Wiltshire has designed the structural packaging for Ariel’s range of Professional stain removers

Tin Horse’s aim was to create a cohesive look across a range of different formats, including plastic tubs, bottles with a pour spout and trigger sprays.

Director Martin Bunce said the project used extensive consumer insight work to establish how different people in different countries tackled stain removal.

The packaging was produced by Alpla, Seaquist and Global Closure Systems.

The clear lids on the bottles and tubs double up as measuring caps. Bunce explained that they were injection blow moulded. The injection moulding provided the high-engineered fit to give a seal, while the blow process enabled the creation of the thin wall ‘undercut’ form of measuring chamber.

Ariel Professional is being rolled out now across stores in Central Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
