World Design: Starbucks gift packDavid Elliott, 4 February 2009Be the first to comment on this article The Comfort & Joy Trio gift pack from Starbucks Coffee in the US is presented in a complicated rigid box construction that mimics smaller packs used for cosmetics. Three oval trays are glued to side walls that hinge open to reveal the total package. Once closed, an oval lid keeps the whole pack together and a ribbon wraps over the box, embellished with a dove and plastic leaves. A hanging card, printed litho, provides information on the contents. Each of the three oval trays contains a different coffee in a gravure-printed multi laminate pouch along with biscuits or confectionery. The re-use value of this box is very high.
