Bpi.films, the manufacturer of shrink, stretch and converter films, has been awarded formal certification to authenticate the environmental credentials of its Integr8 range.

The range of films has secured two OK Compost conformity marks from AIB-Vincotte, an independent provider of quality, safety and environmental inspection and certification services.

The first OK Compost mark was awarded to the film in thickness up to 100 microns and highlights its suitability for composting, particularly in industrial sized facilities.

The second mark was awarded to the film in thickness of up to 66 microns and guarantees that it can be composted by anyone, including householders.

Mark Vernon, commercial director of bpi.films, said: “We’re confident that receiving the OK Compost and OK Compost Home certificates will help build on the popularity of the range.

“At a time when both organisations and individuals are increasingly aware of the need for greater sustainability, they help to boost green credentials not just of the certified film, but of any product it is used to package or produce.”

AIB-Vincotte will regularly monitor Bpi.films production methods to ensure continued compliance.

The company is hoping to achieve the OK Biogradable mark for the remaining films in the Integr8 range.
