Linpac Recycling purchasing manager Bernard Chase said that a ban could be the impetus for the UK to “encourage a robust recycling process with the emphasis on quality rather than quantity”, for example through segregated green bin collections. China was said to be implementing a ban on imports of post-consumer low-density plastic film products, such as carrier bags, from 1 March.
