Coke urges students to recycle on-the-go

The scheme, set up in conjunction with Wrap, is designed to “make it easy for people to choose to recycle”.

“People often have good intentions, but convenience is key. The Recycle Zone at Warwick will help students and staff to recycle more,” said Erika Coghlan, vice president at Coca-Cola Enterprises.

The Recycle Zones will be located at catering outlets across the campus. It is designed to encourage people to “think about recycling as part of their everyday life”.

Nick Hillard, University of Warwick environment manager, said: “With such a high concentration of people at the campus, the University of Warwick has tremendous potential for recycling and we’re confident our students and staff will be making full use of these facilities.”

The Warwick installation, which was launched on Monday (13 October) follows other Coca-Cola Recycle Zones in Festival Place Shopping Centre in Basingstoke and Thorpe Park launched earlier this year.

The soft drinks giant plans to have some 80 schemes in operation by 2011.
