General manager Lee Clayton told Packaging News that the site was taking material from local authorities and waste management companies based from Arbroath to Kent. The plant, which can process 30,000 tonnes of PET and HDPE plastic bottles a year, produces polyethylene pellets used in sheeting and blow moulding, and PET flakes used in sheeting and packaging. Clayton said the "strongest demand" for the recycled product came from the UK, but Intercontinental also had customers in mainland Europe. Speak Your Mind |
