NatureFlex chosen for dog biscuit packs

Oregon-based flexible packaging converter Pak Sel is turning the cellulose based NatureFlex film into liner bags for Barkwheats.

Barkwheats founder Chris Roberts said compostability was the main reason for using the film, but it could also be heat-sealed and was inexpensive.

“Innovia has helped us attain our goals and keep it within a price point that is easily accessible to any business, large or small,” he said.

NatureFlex is certified to European and American compostability standards and breaks down in a home compost bin in a few weeks.

Maine-based Barkwheats’ biscuits are available in two flavours – Sea Veg & Chamomile and Ginger & Parsley – and are made with locally sourced ingredients and are suitable for human consumption.
