DMA Awards to reward green thinking with eco-category

The Direct Marketing Agency has announced a 'Green Initiative' category for its DMA Awards.

The Barclays-sponsored award recognises strategic and creative thinking on how to minimise environmental impact.

Such initiatives might include reduced print runs because of better targeting or the adoption of environmentally friendly materials.

The award will be judged by experts from the direct marketing and the environmental sectors.

Founder of the DMA-backed 'Green Awards', Iain Patton, said: "The direct marketing industry is starting to become more aware of sustainability as a mainstream issue and act on the environmental agenda.

"It is, therefore, good news that marketers who are showing thought-leadership will be recognised for pioneering sustainability in this sector."
