Sealed Air launches starter kit for Instapack protective packaging
Sealed Air, the protective packaging specialist, has introduced a starter kit for its Instapak Quick RT protective packaging.
The firm said the RT Quick Start Kit will enable its European customers to test several sizes of the protective foam bags to see which best suits their requirements.
The kit, which costs €65 (£52), contains 16 foam bags in four different sizes for use in transportation boxes for protecting fragile, delicate and expensive products, such as ceramics or antiques.
The foam bags are stored flat and manually activated at room temperature by applying pressure on them to break a seal, which causes the two liquid components in the bag to combine, forming expanded foam that Sealed Air claims will be 27 times larger than its original volume.
As the foam starts to form, it is placed in a box where it creates a protective cushion around the contents.
A user guide, instructional DVD and safety glasses are also included with the kit.
Sealed Air European product manager for Instapak, Simon Davies, said Instapak Quick RT provided "maximum protection" through "superior cushioning, blocking and bracing".
"New users can prove for themselves that the Instapak Quick RT system will reduce overall costs in their packaging operations," he said.
