Royston launches rPET label
Self-adhesive label manufacturer Royston Labels and plastic packaging firm M&H Plastics have developed a new recycled PET label.
The labels, which have been manufactured using a minimum of 80% post-consumer waste, have the same performance levels as non-recycled labels and can be used in a wide range of applications including food, beverage and personal care.
Paul Clayton, managing director of Royston Labels, said: "We are constantly searching for products that are going to help us and our customers to reduce their impact on the environment, whether this is recycled, recyclable, biodegradable or simply thinner materials.
"We believe that the new material will offer significant commercial benefits to our customers as well as enhancing their 'green' credentials in the wider market place".
The company told Packaging News that no customers have yet been secured for the labels.
Royston Labels serves a variety of markets, including food, drink and healthcare, with a range of products including booklet and tamper-evident labels.
M&H Plastics offers more than 1,000 standard products in bottles, caps, jars, fitments and a full complement of decoration services to the market.
The label can be used for food, beverage and personal care applications
