Portola Packaging gains green accreditation for waste efforts

The company produces more than three billion closures for the dairy, juice and water sectors annually.

Managing director Glenn Heighington said: “We recognise that our activities have the potential to provide a significant environmental impact.

“Having assessed all of our activities and set targets for improvement we have taken huge strides forward and as a result of a sustained programme, we have made significant improvements on all of our environmental impacts including a 75% reduction on landfill waste.”

Portola Packaging primarily operates in the US and has operations in the Czech Republic, China and Mexico.
