Soap Box – Is packaging at the heart of our throwaway culture?Jill Park, 17 September 2008Be the first to comment on this article The Prince of Wales this week spoke out about his concerns for how the British “throwaway culture” is threatening wildlife. In a speech to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Marine Conservation Society (MCS), the Prince said plastic bags and litter continue to be a huge problem for ocean life. The Prince spoke out against the “largely out of sight and out of mind” waste found in the sea that are causing “incalculable suffering to turtles, whales and seabirds”. Therefore, this week we are asking is packaging at the heart of our throwaway culture? We want to know your thoughts on whether packaging is to blame for our throwaway culture?
