Tesco is to reveal the latest progress in its environmental packaging push at next week’s easyFairs event.

Packaging technical manager Stephen Pizer will brief visitors to the show on the supermarket giant’s approach to packaging and the environment in a presentation at midday on Wednesday at the event, which takes place at the NEC on 24-25 February.

Pizer said: “We’ve been working hard to reduce our packaging while at the same time ensuring it remains fit for purpose.

“We know the debate on packaging is evolving and are working with suppliers and experts to understand what is best sustainable and environmental practice for packaging across the supply chain.”

Pizer will speak in the Brand Summit learnshop at the Packaging Innovations show, where other speakers will include top designers Jonathan Sands, Elmwood chairman, and Dorothy McKenzie, chairman of Dragon Rouge.

Other representatives of major brands presenting at the show include Innocent head of packaging Simon Oxley and Asda buying manager for packaging and environment Shane Monkman, who will both talk at the Packaging News learnShop.

Other learnShops are being organised by Wrap, NNFCC and The Packaging Society.
