The Waste and Resources Action Programme (Wrap) is offering funding to packaging firms trialling reusable and refillable packaging systems.

Wrap said it was looking to improve efficiency in the retail supply chain “through reductions in packaging, product or food waste”.

Tenders are also invited for trials in product reformulation, new merchandising and dispensing systems.

Funding will be available for up to half of the cost of the project and expertise made available where appropriate.

Charlotte Henderson, Wrap retail supply chain manager, said it was looking for firms to “be at the forefront of new carbon efficient best practice by making economic and environmental improvements”.

The deadline for applications is 12.30pm on 16 September.
