The coding specialist will supply 128 five-head multi-lane printers to the coffee manufacturer in three instalments, the first of which was installed in November.
Dongsuh chose the TP4000, which can code up to 600 sachets per minute, to apply dates, real-time traceability codes and machine identity.
The TP4000 has six 106mm or 52mm printheads that can print 300dpi.
The machines will be manufactured at Allen Coding’s factory in Barcelona.
“This order is a huge coup for us, particularly in the current economic climate,” said Allen Coding’s international sales and marketing manager Phil Thomas.
Thomas told Packaging News that Dongsuh had ruled out inkjet technology because the company did not want to use liquid ink in an environment where food was packed.
