Bobst launches machine service packs

Bobst UK is looking to increase the productivity of its customers’ packaging lines by renovating high-wear bits of machinery.

The Swiss packaging equipment specialist said renovating a diecutter could improve a output by two to three million sheets a year. Replacing critical parts could also increase the number of blanks a gluer processes.

Bobst is now working at its Redditch site to deliver Service Packs for Cartonpack belts and diecutter waste delivery belts. It has already developed Service Packs for its folder-gluer belts and flipper-ejectors and diecutter feeder, tablet and infeed.

A Bobst technical team will come to fit and calibrate the necessary parts at a convenient time for the customer.

Alan Letford, Bobst service manager for the UK and Ireland, said: “The wear and tear of production on key components starts to affect consistency and running speeds. We’ve developed these service packs to ensure productivity is maintained.”

Bobst highlighted diecutter feeders, folder-gluer and autopacker belts and flipper-ejectors on its Alpina and Mistral folder-gluers as areas that tended to cause drops in productivity.
