Domino Printing Sciences, the packaging coding, marking and tracking specialist, will use April’s Interpack show to launch a host of products, including new outer case coders and a linerless version of the M-Series print and apply labeller.

The firm is targeting the food and beverage industries with the C-Series plus outer case coders, which print alphanumeric and graphical information at a resolution of 180dpi at speeds of up to 60 metres per minute.

Also new is the C6000+ adjacent side coder for the food industry, which uses a single printer to code two adjacent sides of a carton.

At the show, the firm will also introduce the C6000+ coated case system, which codes retail-ready packaging made from coated substrates with a semi- or non-porous finish.

The system incorporates Domino's self-cleaning and capping technology for the inkjet nozzles.

End-of-line innovations include the linerless M500 print and apply labeller. The elimination of backing paper reduces waste, and Domino said it had also developed a special substrate with materials suppliers that can be recycled along with the cartonboard.

The D-Series plus laser coding systems for the food, beverage, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics industries offer a choice of 10-, 30- and 55-watt lasers.

Group managing director Nigel Bond said the new products underlined the firm's commitment to offering end-to-end coding systems across a number of industries.

"With the growing emphasis on data acquisition and traceability, coding and marking is no longer incidental to the packaging operation – it is a core function," he said.

Domino is on stand 15B02 at Interpack, which takes place at the Messe Düsseldorf on 24-30 April.
