Mercury Packaging invests in new converting kit

The new addition is set to significantly boost production of the company’s Safe & Secure range of high strength, tamper evident security bags and pouches for the protection of cash, valuable and sensitive information.

The Vega converter is capable of running larger bag sizes – up to 1000mm width x 1000mm length – with a variety of seal options including side weld, skirt side weld and bottom weld. It can handle a range of film types and thicknesses.

The machine is located in the company’s conversion hall which houses eight converting units.

Mercury specialises in flexible packaging solutions for the mailing, magazine publishing, retail, food and fulfilment markets. Its products include bags, film-on-the-reel and laminates.

Mercury employs more than 50 people and has a turnover of £5m.
