New warehouse ups CFI capacity

February 26, 2007 Comments Off

Cases for Industry (CFI), which makes wood-based packaging and shipping products, is buying a new 400 sqm warehouse to enable it to buy and store more raw timber when prices are favourable

The investment will help the Liverpool-based firm, part of the FDL Group, maintain price stability and boost its distribution base by 10%.

The Midlands warehouse is the latest phase of a £500,000 investment programme running for the past two years.

This includes the purchase of a £25,000 Dimter Weinig Gruppe Opticut S50 automatic cross-cut saw, which is predicted to improve the speed at which the company prepares the raw material by a quarter.

Operations director Simon Higson said: “We are now well placed to serve the needs of our growing customer base.”
