Witt Gas updates testing piercer
Witt Gas Techniques, the Warrington-based gas safety, control, mixing and analysis equipment manufacturer, has updated its can and bottle piercing machine to make it easier to use.
The device uses an unbreakable probe with an integrated needle to obtain oxygen and carbon dioxide samples.
The attachment is adjustable for use with cans or bottles up to 330mm high, which can be metal, PVC or glass with metal and plastic lids or caps.
Via a tube, the piercer is connected to the Oxybaby V, a handheld, cordless gas oxygen measuring system, designed for checking modified atmospheres in food packs. The Oxybaby V can give a reading of an oxygen or carbon dioxide concentration from a minimum 4ml gas sample within six seconds.
The Oxybaby can memorise and store up to 100 analysis results. Data can be read via a user interface screen or downloaded to a computer or printer using Witt-Logger software, a Windows-based programme with filter functions for editing information such as procedure changes.
The measured results can be documented providing a complete record for Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) audits.
