Label Store equips JZ with online verification system

JZ Flowers International has implemented an online label and barcode verification system at its site in Plaxton Bridge, Yorkshire, to ensure all bouquets it supplies to supermarkets are labelled correctly.

Label Store has provided JZ with a Hand Held Products SV200 online verification system to check the contrast, direction and reflection of type and graphics on the labels as well as the number of labels that have been printed.

The SV200, which is integrated with four Datamax printers, scans every label printed and, if an error is found, pauses the printer for the label to be removed before proceeding with the remainder of the print run.

Bill Bradnum, quality control manager at JZ Flowers, said: “We have the SV200 running in our print room and it is working very well. We have already seen a reduction to zero rejections from our customers, which has resulted in zero penalties. I am now rolling this system out across the entire print room and at the sites in Hull and Ireland.”
