Tetra Pak picks pace for packs

Tetra Pak has created a packaging line that doubles the output of earlier systems to meet the 5.7 per cent annual worldwide growth rate for coffee creamers.

The Tetra Pak A1/Mini machine increases output to 21,600 packs/hr for the company’s new 20ml aseptic pouch from just 9,000 packs/hr for the traditional 25ml option.

“The Tetra Classic Aseptic 20ml Base pack is now the ideal size for coffee drinkers,” said Alex Salling, project manager at European dairy Arla Foods, which has been test-marketing the  system. Global availability is scheduled for early 2007.
