Kodak is set to improve automation and efficiency with the release of the Automatic Pallet Loader for its Magnus VLF platesetter.

The machine loads up to 3,600 plates without the need for manual handling.

It can be equipped with up to six pallets, each with as many as 600 plates, for fully automatic, online loading to the Magnus.

It features a large capacity slipsheet storage system that allows for easy disposal or reuse of slipsheet paper and is available in multiple configurations.

Each segment can be customised to contain up to two stacks of plates. The segments are field upgradeable for maximum flexibility to meet current and future needs.

Kodak product manager Jamie Lyall said: "By enabling simple loading of plates to the device, the automatic pallet loader follows the principles of lean manufacturing and helps commercial printers streamline their production operations."

The Kodak Automatic Pallet Loader will be available in Europe from October.
