Domino acquires German software firm for £2.8m

Domino Printing Sciences, the packaging coding, marking and tracking specialist, has bought Control Information Technology, a German firm that develops software for the pharmaceutical industry.

Domino is paying £2.8m (€4m) in cash for the Koblenz-based firm, which offers software to monitor production line performance and track products.

Domino said the addition of Control's PDIS production control technology would enable it to provide customers with "full serialisation capability and traceability of products at both item and batch level".

Cambridge-based Domino said the sellers, Ralf-Gunter Wein and Harald Herres, would remain with the business along with all other staff.

The firm will become part of Domino's Integrated Solutions Group, headed by director Simon King.

Domino does not expect the acquisition to add to its earnings in the first year.
