Ilapak launches block-bottom KubiBag

Ilapak has launched the KubiBag block-bottom pack in two styles for sweets, chocolate, biscuits, dried fruit and snacks, as well as granular products such as coffee, sugar and salt.

There are two KubiBag formats: the Baseline version has a 'winged' design, is easy to open and has a recloseable label; while the Brickline version has a square, stackable shape, making it easy to transport and display instore, and offers a high level of protection to fragile products.

KubiBags can be produced in films and laminates with varying degrees of rigidity, thickness and barrier qualities.

They can also be used to pack dairy and other fresh products.

Ilapak said KubiBags can only be produced on its Vegatronic 1000 vertical form, fill and seal packaging machines, which create pack sizes between 30mm x 30mm and 75mm x 75mm at speeds of up to 50 packs a minute.

The block-bottom design provides good on-shelf stability while offering a large print area to attract attention, the firm added.

The Hayes, Middlesex-based packaging machinery manufacturer was unable to name any of its customers.
