Xennia and ALS develop single-pass label press

Xennia, the inkjet integrator, and German automation specialist ALS Engineering have developed a label press which can print, cut and finish customised labels in a single pass.

The XenJet 8100 allows customers to digitally print, laser cut and fully finish variable sized and shape labels at speeds of 24m per minute.

It is available with multiple modular finishing units and can be configured for specific customer requirements.

The press includes corona pre-treatment for substrates, a digital print station and UV lamps for pinning and curing.

As a modular system the customer can select from a range of bolt-ons including reel-to-reel or reel-to-sheet options, laser cutting, varnishing, laminating, slitting, feeding and stacking.

The system runs with the XenJet Vivide UV cure ink range, delivering customised labels on a wide range of plastics, foils, films and coated label stock.

Software allows users to easily create print jobs and download images using an intuitive Windows-based user interface.
