Proseal is looking to further expand into the Benelux markets following the installation of its SP30 sandwich-packing system at Dutch firm Catering Houtop.

The heat-sealing equipment and tooling manufacturer launched the SP30 last November, but this installation is the first in continental Europe and the first project completed with Proseal’s partner in the Benelux, Stephan Nederland of Almelo.
The SP30 is aimed at small-scale sandwich makers and can handle a wide variety of pack designs.

Catering Houtop is achieving speeds of up to 20 cardboard skillet packs a minute for products including made-to-order sandwiches, although Proseal said the SP30 was capable of 30 packs a minute.
