Foodex debut for Witt gas tester
Witt Gas Techniques will use the Foodex Meatex show in April to launch a portable gas analyser for use on modified atmosphere packaging lines.
The Warrington-based supplier said it would unveil the Mapy 4.0 with ethernet capability and colour touchscreen. The unit can also be supplied with an integrated printer and barcode scanner.
Witt general manager Carl Long said the firm was in the process of setting a price for the machine, which will be available to order at the show, which takes place at the NEC from 6-9 April.
Visitors will also be able to see the Pack-Vac portable leak detection system, which uses only water and compressed air to find leaks in flexible and rigid food packaging.
The unit is available with six different size chambers ranging from 203x280x203mm to 508x813x660mm.
It can also be supplied with an attachment to test vacuum packs.
The Leakmaster micro-leak detection system for flexible and rigid food packaging will also be demonstrated. This uses carbon dioxide as the leak tester, which is said to cost considerably less than water.
The Oxybaby V, which measures the gas content of small packs for foods such as salami, cheese, poultry and salads, will round off the exhibits.
