Systems Labelling set to open new in-mould facility

Systems Labelling has announced that production at its £1m in-mould labelling facility in Runcorn, Cheshire will begin at the start of November.

The company's expansion into in-mould labelling has created 11 new jobs and there are plans for a further 24 positions, it said.

The site houses a modified Mark Andy wrap-round machine, which has a film package including GEW water chill system, non-slip rollers and a servo tension system.

The company has also invested in a Gannicott offline converter in-mould machine with an independent packaging machine that will produce pre-cut labels, of various shapes and sizes, in stacks or reels to customer's specification.

Tony Exford, sales director, said: "This exciting development enhances our product offering and will provide further options to our customers, in addition to attracting new businesses from many sectors.

"We have already secured some lucrative business for this label type and with more to follow, we are extremely excited by the opportunities this will provide our organisation."

The company said the site would produce more than ten million square metres of materials per annum.

Systems Labelling provides self-adhesive, in-mould, board, linerless, wraparound labels for sectors including food, chemical, household, logistics, dairy, beverage and cosmetics.
