Opus 21 makes biggest investment yet with ws2000

Newcastle-based Opus 21 Digital has made its first investment of around 160,000 in a HP Indigo ws

The firm, established last November by directors Mark Hunter-Purvis, Peter Chapman and Adrian Howe, specialises in labels, short-run mock-ups, cartons and packaging for design agencies who work for major brand owner clients such as Procter & Gamble, Unilever, Asda and Kraft Foods, among others.

Hunter-Purvis said: “We have all previously worked for a company with a ws2000, so we are well aware of its capabilities. It was the only press we considered when setting up our new venture. It was also our biggest investment and central to our plans.”

The HP ws2000 delivers high-quality digital printing on self-adhesive papers, plain and embossed papers, synthetic, metallised and ‘no label look’ materials.

The press can print up to six colours and allows special spot colours to be mixed using the HP IndiChrome ink mixing system.
