Packaging firms shone this week at the print industry’s Excellence Awards, organised by the BPIF and Packaging News‘s sister title PrintWeek.

Inspirepac was the big winner at the awards, held on Wednesday night, that are designed to celebrate best practice in the UK printing industry. The corrugated packaging firm took home the Company of the Year gong, in the 100-plus employees category, as well as the Health and Safety award.

The judges highlighted the firm’s strong customer base, 12% year-on-year sales growth and investment programme as reasons for awarding the prize, and said the firm had come a long way since it was created after a management buyout of Mondi’s specialist packaging division in 2007.

Label firm Fix-a-Form International won the Global Business award for the second year in a row. Managing director Andrew Denny said: It’s a real honour to be chosen for this accolade once again and it is testament to the tremendous efforts and hard work put in by our licensee network across the globe.

CPC Packaging also took home the award in the People Management category for its commitment to best human resources practices.
