Boxer, Brandopus, Lewis Moberly and JKR are also on the shortlist for the awards, run by the Design Business Association. All those on the shortlist have won awards, but they will find out if they have been assigned gold, silver or bronze status at a ceremony on 22 October in London.
Elmwood and Pearlfisher will both receive four awards for packaging work: Elmwood for designs for Colgate-Palmolive, Debbie & Andrew’s sausages, Godfreys, and SSL’s Durex; and Pearlfisher for Deluxe Honeydrop, International Beverage, SAB Miller, and the Sovena Group.
Elmwood and Pearlfisher are also vying for the DBA’s Top of the Table Award, given to the consultancy with the highest number of wins over three years. Pearlfisher is the current holder of the title and leads Elmwood by six points.
The awards recognise design projects that can demonstrate a tangible effect on a client’s business. Entrants have to “prove beyond doubt” that design has solved a customer’s problem.
