Design Cognition is offering free sessions of compliance advice for pharmaceutical packaging at this month’s easyFairs show.

Design Cognition said an estimated 20% of pharmaceutical companies could have products taken off shelves for failing to comply with legislation on aspects such as mandatory Braille.

Chief executive Chris Penfold said he was surprised at the number of companies that were not up to speed on legislation. Pharmaceutical packs must carry Braille from October.

“Firms need to take and act on advice quickly to avoid costly mistakes and to get their designs submitted to the appropriate regulatory authority and incorporate into their packaging on time,” said Penfold.

A limited number of 15-minute sessions providing advice on legislation and the requirements on businesses will be available to visitors who book in advance by emailing packaging.surgery@designcognition.com

Design Cognition will be on stand 582 at easyFairs Packaging Innovations on 24-25 February.
