Leeways sets sights on fresh produce

February 22, 2012 Comments Off

Bespoke pack specialists Leeways Packaging has upped its presence in the fresh produce market and will be presenting its services at Packaging Innovations.

The company has invested heavily in the latest thermoforming equipment with in-line pad placement. It means that Leeways, which works across branded and private label food sectors, can offer a range of recycled PET punnets for packing products including soft fruit, exotics and stone fruit in 40-85mm depths.

The full range includes a 56mm depth, designed to optimise the amount of space within supermarket crates and cartons – allowing 30 punnets per crate, over three layers.  The full range of LP punnets have been approved for heat sealing by both Packaging Automation and Proseal and can also be lidded with flat clip on lids if preferred.

The punnets are manufactured in rPET using a three layer structure containing minimum of 50% post consumer waste.
