WINNER

Aqualisa Products: Midas 100 Shower and Easy-Fit Fixing Bracket
Effective solution; innovative design – just two examples of how the judges praised the packaging for Aqualisa’s new Midas 100 Shower and Easy-Fit Fixing Bracket.

During the two-stage process of quickly and accurately installing a shower unit, it is vital that components are protected from exposure to dust and debris and don’t go missing.

With this in mind, the firm realised effective packaging would be instrumental to the product’s success, and created a fully recyclable box with a pop-out section to allow easy access to everything required for the first stage of installation, while protecting the rest of the contents in a separate sealed section.

The pack has swiftly generated a buzz in the sector, and the firm has racked up tens of thousands of sales in the past year. One judge described it as a “stunning piece of design that shows a deep understanding of the market – totally fit for purpose”.

HIGHLY COMMENDED

Crown Speciality Packaging: Bosch ‘CISO’ cordless secateur metal tin
The judges were taken with the sleek look and the potential for reuse of the pack that ensures Crown Speciality Packaging a commendation after two years of taking home the top prize. The pack has enticed consumers to purchase the Ciso secateur as a gift rather than just a practical tool. “It’s a good use of metal packaging that creates great stand-out on shelf and a neat storage solution for the home,” said a judge.

The Glenmorangie Company: Glenmorangie Signet
Glenmorangie Signet has positioned itself as a break from the norm and unlike any other premium whisky, a concept that is continued in the product’s packaging. The modern design remains true to the brand’s heritage, and the intricate emblem symbolises the depth and complexity of the whisky to produce an upmarket, iconic design. One judge said the pack used “all of the ammunition available to produce a wonderful piece of design”. “Simply beautiful,” said another.
