API Laminates and Webb Scarlett deVlam: Bombay Sapphire
Looking at Bombay Sapphire’s intricately printed packaging “teases the customer to touch and feel the product”, or so one judge proclaimed. The clever use of circular Fresnel lenses dotted across the gin’s blue pack creates a 3D effect. Chesapeake Branded Packaging took up the challenge to print the pack. The company worked closely with API Laminates, the film’s laminator, to ensure the film stretch was controlled.

The brief was to create a gift carton for the travel retail sector and to take inspiration from the Bombay Sapphire Inspired Advertising campaign. Design agency Webb Scarlet deVlam chose to replicate the spherical properties of Eva Zeisel’s Reign glass using API Laminates’ Fresnel lenses. The result was a fantastic and elaborate effect that led another of our judges to say: “Great stand-out – a real innovation”. Need we say more?

Glenmorangie’s gift set is impressive to behold. It was created to evolve the range into a year-round offering – perfect for all special occasions – that would also drive growth in new markets. Cosfibel UK supplied the packs, which were manufactured by the company’s partner factory in China and supplied printed, but in a flat format. As one judge said: “Fantastic”.
