FFP Packaging Solutions: Marks & Spencer Crispbake and Fishcake ranges
Superb print quality helped FFP secure a clear victory in this year’s Flexible Plastic Packaging category.

The complicated job for Marks & Spencer presented several challenges for Northampton-based FFP, notably the choice of a jagged-edged font in the titling and body of the packs, which meant it had to print enough density to provide a solid colour without filling in the edges of the type.

The full range comprises 12 products across the Crispbake and Fishcake lines. Marks & Spencer chose a consistent look and feel, with a deep black offset by a different colour cue in the body of each pack and ?on the seal ends. This is intended to provide easy differentiation while maintaining a coherent identity across the range.

FFP also had to bring out the photographic detail of each product within the range so consumers could identify each variety, without compromising the depth and vibrancy of the black body and coloured seal ends.

“Nice print, good density on the black,” said one of our judges, who also praised the packaging for having a “good feel”.
