Clariant Masterbatches releases Enigma demo pack

Clariant Masterbatches has developed an Enigma effects pack to demonstrate how special effect colour systems can make the most of trends in mass market and luxury packaging and give products more appeal for consumers.

The Enigma effects are demonstrated in six multi-layer high-density polyethylene (HDPE) bottles finished off with a clarified polypropylene (PP) thin-wall over-cap. Each colour system starts with the same base colour – an opaque, saturated purple. The purple is then paired with a different Enigma effect in each bottle to show how the look of a package can be significantly altered – with treatments, including tactile effects in foam, soft-touch and wet look, or reflective effects in iridescent pearls and warm metals – to produce different finishes.

The company has also designed a colour forecasting tool called Colorforward, which identifies five cultural and lifestyle trends that influence colour choices.
