Packaging innovation highlighted at Drupa
Plenty of packaging innovations will be on show when Drupa, the world's largest print media exhibition, opens its doors tomorrow (29 May) at the Messe Düsseldorf, Germany.
Bobst, EskoArtwork, Gallus, Heidelberg and HP are among the companies showcasing their products at the exhibition.
Man Roland will show its latest large-format press, the Roland 900 XXL, including the first public appearance of its APL fully automatic plate loading system and the InlineColorPilot system for measuring and controlling ink density.
The German firm will also display the Roland 500. It has now been fitted with the InlineFoiler Prindor, which can process up to three rolls of foil simultaneously. Man Roland said the machine was ideally suited to packaging and labelling applications.
Heidelberg is showing its Dymatrix die-cutting equipment, while DuPont will reveal the results of its research into the sustainability of flexographic printing.
Messe Düsseldorf has also organised a series of "Compass Sessions" examining different sectors of the print industry. Package printing will be the subject on Friday 6 June. For information and registration click here.
Around 1,900 firms will exhibit at Drupa, which runs until 11 June.
