Systems Labelling opens Runcorn operation

Label manufacturer Systems Labelling has acquired a 12,000sq m site in Runcorn to house its new in-mould and wrap-round equipment.

Managing director Steve Pickford said the new facility will provide "additional capacity, flexibility and a centre of excellence for our new label options".

The new Runcorn site will serve the food, beverage and dairy sectors.

It is currently undergoing building alterations in preparation for the installation of the new equipment.

This will include a modified Mark Andy wrap-round machine, which has a film package including GEW water chill system, non-slip rollers and a servo tension system.

The company has also invested in a Gannicott offline converter in-mould machine with an independent packaging machine that will produce pre-cut labels, of various shapes and sizes, in stacks or reels to customer's specification.

The facility, which is expected to start production in September, will be capable of producing 15 million square metres of materials per annum.

Systems Labelling also has a facility in Deeside.
