Caribbean rum brand Malibu has launched a limited-edition bottle with a muted palette in support of its online competition to design your own Malibu bottle.

Colour has been removed from the limited-edition bottle and the brand’s iconic sunset and palm tree logo has been printed in a white metallic shimmer.

People can go onto a website to design their own label using the online tools or by uploading images.

The top three entrants will win a trip to the tropical destination of their choice. There are currently no plans to print the winning designs for retail.

Secret graffiti artist Jimi Crayon is one of three artist that have been enlisted by the brand to create their own versions of Malibu in a key hotspot in London.

More information on these professional designs cans be found on Malibu’s facebook page.

“Malibu is known for its unpretentious and fun take on life,” said Malibu head of marketing Patrick Venning.

“Encouraging people to get together with friends and create their own design for a product that they know and love is really just a natural extension of this attitude.”

Malibu is part of the Pernod Ricard Group, which owns 19 of the world’s top 100 brands. The limited-edition bottles went on sale this month.
