Heinz design roster regular Cowan has revamped the packaging for the Heinz Mean Beanz range to highlight the company’s heritage.

London-based Cowan used Heinz Beanz’s classic turquoise colour to reflect the flavoured range’s connection to the original Heinz Beanz line.

“Our brief was to make sure that people understood that this is the Heinz Beanz that they already used, but better as you can now get them in different flavours,” Cowan account director Nina Maklin told Packaging News.

Heinz Beanz brand manager Lucy Cawkwell said the new packs will be “easy to find on shelf and will give beans fans the confidence to try something new, while sticking with a brand they know and trust”.

Cowan has been on Heinz’s design roster since the company was established three years ago.

The agency has previously designed packs for Heinz’s soup, baby food, salad cream, deli mayonnaise and beans with meatballs and sausage ranges.

The Heinz Mean Beanz range is available now in Sweet Chilli, Mexican and Smokey BBQ flavours.
