Mercury Packaging has supplied 500,000 printed polyethylene (PE) bags for a special-edition of Russian Glamour magazine, on the back of a long-standing relationship with publisher Cond Nast.

The 60 micron white opaque PE film bags for Russian Glamour were printed with a bold eight-colour design on the gearless flexo press at the Kirkby-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire facility.

Wolfgang Golling, production director at Condé Nast Germany, said he had “no hesitation in recommending” Mercury to his Russian colleagues.

“All parties were happy with the finished product and the feedback has been extremely positive,” he said.

The firm has secured more than 30 orders with the Condé Nast’s German division in the past five years, and has also worked with the UK operation.

Mercury produces a wide range of printed and laminate films at its 3,069sq m facility, generating a £5m turnover. It also deals with track and trace technology and tamper resistant technology.

It was established in 1999 and employs more than 50 staff.
